Why Do You Keep Falling In the Same Hole
Must Be Because You Won't Change

Success means getting the right things done

The Coyote never caught the Roadrunner because he kept doing the same thing.

How about you? Do you keep doing the same thing?

The Coyote was doing what he did very well.

You might be doing all you do very well and still not getting the results you want.

The question is, are you doing the right things, the things that will bring the greatest chance for success.

The Coyote failed, because he kept doing the same things and because no one was there to keep him accountable. Look at all the money he spent?

Start doing those things that will bring you the highest payback.

7 Roads to success - never fall into the same hole again.

How to change your patterns in life and end up creating the success you really want, doing the things that will make it happen.

Just remember, the Coyote spent plenty of money, used plenty of technology, and was very persistent - yet he still never succeeded.

Ask yourself these four questions:

1. Do you delegate everything and anything you can?

  1. Stop doing things that someone else can do
  2. Stop doing things that you can pay someone else less than you learn to do
  3. Raise the bar - when you delegate you should get better results that if you did it yourself. Accept no less.
  4. Delegation is not a option, the only option is are you doing it effectively.

2. How is your attitude?

  1. Make sure it is not blocking your success
  2. Make sure you pass the right attitude to your staff
  3. Make sure you would like someone with your attitude.

3. Do you work to much? Do you work to long? Does your work end up being second rate and ineffective?

  1. If you are great, you can work 8 hours a day and be very successful.
  2. If you are good, you can work 10 hours a day and be very successful.
  3. You need to sleep 7 hours

4. Are you working only the high payback items?

  1. Review and keep reviewing what you do
  2. Get rid of everything that is not a high payback item.
  3. Get rid of interruptions

The Seven Roads To Success

Start doing those things that will bring you the highest payback. Take the 7 roads to success and never fall into the same hole again.

These 7 roads will help you change your patterns in life. They will help you create the success you really want. They will help you make things happen.

Passion
Creating the passion you need to drive you in the process. Wake up each day knowing you want to make this happen. Without passion, it is just a job.

Vision
Where are you going, where is the company going, where are your leaders going. If your people know where you are going, then it is very easy for them to know where they are going.

Attitude
No matter how you cut it, this is so critical. One person makes it happen, the other keeps trying to figure out why it can't happen. Sometimes that is the only difference between the two.

Plan/Measurement
How are you going to do it? You can have great passion, vision and attitude and still be driving around going nowhere. This is what defines the how and defines the measurement of the how. How do you know you have traveled a mile? How do you know how fast you traveled the mile? If you are going to break the world record by .005 of a second, you have to measure. If you are going to be successful, then you also have to measure.

Action
To many times people have a great plan and nothing happens. You have to make it happen, you have to do it. Action creates results; the right action creates great results.

Accountability
Who is setting the bar and making sure you reach beyond it? Who is making sure that you are doing all those things you need to be doing to make it happen?

Who is busting your chops when it is not done? Great teams win. Great organizations win time and time again. The NY Yankees didn't win a world series; they dominated baseball. The Dallas Cowboys, SF 49ers, and Pittsburg Steelers didn't win a Super Bowl; they create dynasties. The Boston Celtics didn't win an NBA championship; they won a decade of them. Great organizations keep their players accountable and they win again and again and again.

Modification/Adjustment
Adaptability is so critical to success. The first 6 steps move you forward, but if the target moves and you don't, you miss. How many stories of great companies are there, who are gone today? Just look at the top 500 companies worldwide fifty years ago, where are they today?
